• Mayfield Heights police launch Special Responders Unit for people with special needs (cleveland19.com) — Mayfield Heights Police are launching a Special Responders Unit to help residents with special needs build trust and comfort with local first responders, culminating in a swearing-in ceremony on Aug. 24. Seven participants have been training hands-on with cruisers, SWAT vehicles, and safety skills, driven by personal experiences of Sgt. Matthew Mikolay and department chaplain David Kern.
