• Mentor Avenue resurfacing begins Monday (cleveland.com) — Overnight resurfacing on Mentor Avenue starts Monday, meaning one lane each way will stay open but drivers should expect slower traffic from west of Hopkins Road to the Painesville Township line. Work runs 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through October, bringing new pavement, curb repairs, and upgraded radar-based traffic signals along this key Mentor corridor. 
• An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe in Mentor Events (farmanddairy.com) — Fans of classic horror can catch "An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe" at the James A. Garfield National Historic Site on Mentor Avenue from September 24–26, with performances at 6 and 8 p.m. Each show features dramatic readings like "The Raven," plus refreshments and a tour of the Garfield home, with tickets available online for $30.
