Oxford Lane Library staff describe toddlers proudly recognizing "Auntie Dolly's" books at story time, while Butler County enrollment tops 14,500 kids, boosting early literacy, kindergarten readiness, and access to books in homes that might otherwise have none.

• Armadillo discovered in Ohio could mark 'significant milestone' in state's history (wlwt.com) — Miami University researchers in Oxford have documented what appears to be Ohio's first naturally occurring armadillo, a roadkill specimen now preserved for study and future display at the Hefner Museum. The find offers scientists a rare chance to track how this species is expanding its range northward and what that might mean for local ecosystems, without current evidence of major health risks.
