📰 News we're reading
• MC Commissioners extend dog registrations for 2027 (miamivalleytoday.com) — Miami County residents, including those in Piqua, should know commissioners extended 2027 dog registration deadlines and accepted 2026 county tax rates that affect local bills. The board also approved housing rehab funding, sheriff's equipment purchases, road and bridge change orders, and plans to attend a grid growth meeting at Romer's Catering Piqua Ballroom on Robert M. Davis Parkway.
• Where to Find the Rules that Govern Your Hometown (civiccapacity.com) — If you're wondering what rules apply to your Piqua property or project, this guide points you to the city's online Code of Ordinances and explains how new local laws are adopted. It also cautions that Piqua's online code is only current through March 18, 2025, so residents should double-check recent ordinances with council records or the clerk.
• Blowouts, Sweet Justice, and MLB Playoffs (mycountylink.com) — Piqua football fans saw a tight 16-14 loss to Xenia highlighted among a night of lopsided Miami Valley League and regional scores, underscoring big gaps between area programs. The column then ranges from Buckeye and small-college football to MLB playoff storylines and local high school golf tournament qualifiers.
