📰 News we're reading
• Solon plants new 'mini-forest' (spectrumnews1.com) — A vacant lot at Aurora and Liberty roads in Solon is being transformed into a dense "mini-forest" with more than 1,000 native trees and shrubs, aimed at boosting the city's tree canopy and future park space. City leaders, students, and volunteers partnered with Rooted in Trees and Holden Arboretum, hoping the site becomes both an environmental asset and an outdoor classroom within a decade.
• Nordonia Football Visits Solon Seeking Third Straight Win (nordoniahills.news) — Solon football fans can catch the Comets hosting Nordonia tonight at 7 p.m., with Solon entering at 3–3 and looking to defend home turf. The preview breaks down both teams' records, scoring trends, and a shared opponent, offering context on how Solon stacks up and what might decide this key matchup.
• Traffic stops reveal some menacing warrants: Orange Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Recent Orange police reports include suspects with outstanding warrants who were ultimately booked at the Solon jail before release or transfer, underscoring Solon's role in local law enforcement logistics. Other incidents ranged from suspended-license traffic stops to a stuck truck in Orange Village Park and a brief pursuit, painting a detailed picture of nearby public safety activity.
