The log also notes welfare checks, a missing adult later found in Delphos, and multiple assists to Van Wert police and fire. 
• Haunted Illusions Brings Halloween Magic to the Niswonger (mercercountyoutlook.net) — Families in Van Wert can plan now for a Halloween-themed magic night when Haunted Illusions with David Caserta hits the Niswonger stage on Saturday, October 17 at 7 p.m. With lobby activities for kids and discounted family four-packs, organizers hope residents will enjoy a spooky, budget-friendly evening close to home.
• Prep roundup: golf, volleyball, soccer « The VW independent (thevwindependent.com) — Van Wert volleyball fell in straight sets to Crestview but will quickly regroup to host state-ranked Parkway tonight, giving local fans another chance to support the Cougars at home. The roundup also notes Lincolnview golfer Grace Custer's district finish and Crestview girls soccer's loss at Allen East.
