Bag Sale Program Will Benefit Westlake Food Pantry

WESTLAKE, OH — The Westlake Fresh Thyme will donate proceeds from its Giving Bag Program to the Westlake Food Pantry this month.

Customers that buy the designated Giving Bag (with the associated Giving Tag) will have a corresponding donation of $1 made to the food pantry. The Giving Bags are eco-friendly.

"This is a great opportunity for us to raise funding for the food pantry simply through the sale of a reusable shopping bag," the city said on its website.

Fresh Thyme is located at 30100 Detroit Road. The Westlake Food Pantry donation program will run through January, according to the city.

The Giving Bag Program is run at Fresh Thyme stores around the nation. To date, the company has donated more than $45,000 to non-profits through the program. The company estimates it has reduced the bag waste drastically.
