City Wants You To Compete In Westlake In Bloom
City officials want this year's contest to be the most popular ever. And they want you to get involved.
WESTLAKE, OH — Westlake residents can still register for Westlake In Bloom 2020. City officials said they want to get every household involved in this year's competition, even if participants are just setting out a potted plant.
Each year, judges review outdoor displays at homes throughout the city. There are several categories which can be won by residents and organizations, ranging from best window box to best lawn.
Judging takes place in early July and winners are announced in August. The "best of the best" will receive the Lu Walter "Best in Bloom" award.

"We are hoping to get every household in the city involved this year, whether that means cultivating an elaborate, potentially award-winning floral display or simply placing one small potted flower on your front porch along with your neighbors!" city officials said in a post on Facebook.
An entry form and application can be downloaded and submitted online, through the city's website. Residents can also get more details on the contest and previous year's winners.
