ELA Launches #GivingTuesday Campaign, Plans Westlake Event

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH, November 9, 2018 – Support Students. Change Lives. That is the theme behind Effective Leadership Academy’s #GivingTuesday campaign, with a goal to raise at least $2,018 before midnight on November 27.

This #GivingTuesday, a global movement to bring people together around core values and giving back, all proceeds raised by Effective Leadership Academy (ELA) will go into the organization’s scholarship fund for students with financial need.

ELA will spend the month of November utilizing social media to reach its goal for #GivingTuesday. ELA will accept donations all month through its Facebook Page and Crowdrise Fundraising Page. As a bonus, any donations received through the ELA Facebook page on #GivingTuesday will be matched, thanks to a partnership between Facebook and PayPal.

On #GivingTuesday (November 27), ELA will hold a special event thanks to a generous collaboration with Sibling Revelry Brewing, Cleveland Awesome Trivia and Any Thyme, Any Plate. Sibling Revelry and Any Thyme, Any Plate have graciously agreed to give ELA $1 for every beer sold and every dish purchased. The ELA Team will be on site from 4-10 p.m. collecting additional #GivingTuesday donations and enjoying a night of trivia fun from 6-8 p.m. More details about the event can be found on the ELA #GivingTuesday Facebook event page.

“We are so grateful to our growing philanthropic community for their continued support. For the past several years, their funding has enabled ELA to turn no student away who requested funding support to participate in our programming,” said ELA Founder and Executive Director Flo Brett. “What we are bringing to schools across northeast Ohio is too important to not allow access to all. I make it my personal mission to find the funding.”

Every year, ELA receives numerous scholarship requests from parents interested in enrolling their students in one of ELA’s highly interactive programs. The #GivingTuesday movement has the potential to be extremely beneficial for ELA’s scholarship fund, which prompted the organization to kick off several initiatives to reach its $2,018 goal.
