Furniture Donations Sought In Westlake
The Cleveland Furniture Bank will be accepting donations at Westlake City Hall on July 15.

WESTLAKE, OH — The Cleveland Furniture Bank will be accepting donations at Westlake City Hall on July 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations of small furniture items, books, pictures, shoes, toys, clothes, small appliances, and linens.

The Cleveland Furniture Bank started in 2006. The organization provides furniture to formerly homeless or displaced individuals and families, helping them to furnish new homes. Furniture is distributed through the Furniture for Families program.

Some pieces are sold through an associated thrift store and the money brought in is provided to vulnerable citizens.
The Furniture Bank also runs the Beds for Kids program, which provides a new mattress to referred families. Each year, the Beds for Kids program collects 18,000 pieces of furniture and distributes them to 3,000 or 3,500 families.
