Holiday Trash Collection Schedule For Westlake

WESTLAKE, OH — Trash collection will be delayed by one day on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, the city of Westlake announced. Each delay will impact certain routes collected by Rumpke.

Thanksgiving, November 28, will cause a one-day delay for Thursday and Friday trash collection routes. Christmas will cause cause a one-day delay for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday routes. New Year's Day will also create a one-day delay for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday routes.

For residents that cut down Christmas trees, the city has a special protocol for disposing of your firs and spruces.

Live Christmas trees should be placed on the tree lawn, next to rubbish. The city's brush truck will then collect the tree.

All ornaments, lights, stands or other decorations must be removed from the tree. Plastic tree bags must also be removed prior to collection.

Artificial Christmas trees will not be collected by the brush truck. The city recommends breaking artificial trees into their composite parts and then placing them in rubbish bags for collection with other trash.
