Part Of Bassett Road Closed For Repairs

That portion of the street will be closed until Oct. 4.

WESTLAKE, OH — On Monday, part of Bassett Road was closed for repairs. Crews are working to repair a water main on the road between Northglen Dr. and Glenmore Dr. The street will remain closed until next Wednesday, when the city expects the repairs to be completed.

The city said detour signs will be posted for drivers that regularly use the route. It is not clear how the repairs could impact pick-ups and drop-offs at Lee Burneson Middle School.

The city posted a map of the impacted area. That map can be viewed here. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Westlake newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)

The city posted about the street closure on Facebook, prompting a parent to ask for a police officer to be placed near the construction site because the road serves as an entryway for parents picking up students at LBMS.

The city's Service Department did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment and more information.
