Westlake Aquatic Center Opens Saturday

After a ribbon-cutting ceremony, residents and people that work in Westlake can get free access to the facility.

WESTLAKE, OH - The Westlake Aquatic Center will welcome the public during a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, June 15.

Opening day will begin at 9:45 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Dennis Clough. After that, residents and people that work in Westlake can get free admission to the Aquatic Center, with the new Peterson Pool, and take part in a day full of activities, including: music and kids games, an ice sculpture artist, visits from Disney characters, a caricature artist, an animal show and a magic show.

"This is a great day for the City of Westlake,” Mayor Dennis M. Clough said. “The construction of the new Westlake Aquatic Center has been a city-wide effort for more than a year, and the end result is something our community can be proud of and benefit from for many years to come.”

The Westlake Aquatic Center features five bodies of water: Peterson Pool, Slide Plunge Pool, Lazy River, Activity Pool and Splash Pad. The campus will also feature a pool deck, with space for more than 1,000 people, shade structures and a pavilion.

The Aquatic Center will also feature a Pool House with a concession stand, administrative offices, changing stations/restrooms and locker space. Members of the Aquatic Center will be able to plan birthday parties, have picnics or just swim.
