Westlake Hazardous Waste Round-Up Is This Week
Residents can safely dispose of batteries, computers, printers, wires, video games, office equipment and more this week.
WESTLAKE, OH — The first Westlake hazardous waste round-up is this week. Residents can safely dispose of their paints, pesticides and more at the Westlake Service Center.
Drop-off for waste is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The Service Center is located at 741 Bassett Road.
The Service Center will accept paints and related products, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides, and miscellaneous items like kerosene, caustic household cleaners, and automotive fluids. The following items will not be accepted:

- Latex paint
- Propane tanks
- Mercury, fluorescent bulbs
- Batteries
- Explosives, gun powder, ammunition, flares
- Medical waste, pharmaceuticals, medicine, sharps
- Radioactive waste (i.e. smoke detectors)
- Tires
- Electronics
- Appliances
- Fire extinguishers
- Business, commercial or contractor waste
