'What's Brewing In Westlake' Event Set For July 25
The networking and fundraising event will raise money for the Westlake Services Department.

WESTLAKE, OH - The second annual "What's Brewing in Westlake" will be held July 25.
The networking and fundraising event will be held in the Equity Trust atrium, 1 Equity Way, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and include hors d'oeuvres and two beverage tickets. There will be live music, a wine pull table and a side board raffle.
The city said 100 percent of ticket sales will be donated to Westlake social services. The department provides assistance to hundreds of Westlake residents living in poverty.

“People are often surprised when I discuss poverty in Westlake,” said Lydia Gadd, senior and community services director for Westlake. “In our city, those who qualify for services via the federal poverty guidelines range from families with young children to seniors who are on their own. We have already witnessed the need for some of our services increase as our elderly population continues to grow."
Last year's event raised $1,800 for the Westlake Food Pantry. That money was then used in 2018 to help feed more than 260 individuals, create 220 holiday food baskets and provide 934 subsidized meals.
