'What's Brewing In Westlake' Tickets Now On Sale

The second annual fundraising and networking event will benefit Westlake residents that live in poverty.

WESTLAKE, OH — Tickets for the second annual "What's Brewing in Westlake" fundraising and networking event are now on sale. Ticket sales for the event will benefit Westlake's 1,300 residents that live in poverty.

The event will be held Thursday, July 25, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Equity Trust Atrium, 1 Equity Way, Westlake. Tickets are $25 and pay for heavy hors d'oeuvres and two beverage tickets. All ticket sale proceeds are donated to the City of Westlake's social services.

There will be live entertainment, a wine pull table and side board raffles during the event. All of the money will be donated to Westlake's social services.

“People are often surprised when I discuss poverty in Westlake,” said Lydia Gadd, senior & community services director for Westlake. “In our city, those who qualify for services via the federal poverty guidelines range from families with young children to seniors who are on their own. We have already witnessed the need for some of our services increase as our elderly population continues to grow."

According to the city, there are nearly 1,300 Westlake residents living in poverty.

The inaugural "What's Brewing" event raised $1,800 for the Westlake Food Pantry. The pantry serves more than 260 people and provides 220 holiday food baskets and 934 subsidized meals.

Tickets for the July 25 event will be on sale until July 12.
