1. Journalists, media pioneers receive awards, enter HOF (vindy.com) — Youngstown's press community just honored eight local journalists and media pioneers at the Youngstown Press Club's Hall of Fame dinner at Stambaugh Auditorium, while also awarding $16,000 in scholarships to area students, including two from Youngstown and Youngstown State. The event highlighted the city's deep media legacy, from WKBN's 100th anniversary to YSU-connected storytellers who've chronicled civil rights, politics, sports, and everyday life in the Valley.
   

2. America Makes Launches Member Showcase Series (businessjournaldaily.com) — Based in Youngstown, America Makes is rolling out a new Member Showcase series, starting with an Oct. 21 virtual session on cold spray manufacturing led by SPEE3D's Pierre Devaux. The webinar targets academics, defense organizations, and others interested in advanced metal applications, highlighting real-world case studies and collaboration opportunities that put Youngstown's innovation hub on a national stage.
   

3. Cleveland Radio: iHM Super Sizes NBA Cavs Broadcast Deal (blogspot.com) — Cavaliers fans in Youngstown will now be able to hear every preseason, regular-season, and playoff game on iHeartMedia's expanded 19-station Rock Entertainment Sports Network, which specifically includes the Youngstown market. The new exclusive deal keeps games on Cleveland's WTAM and WMMS while greatly widening statewide access, pairing familiar announcers with more consistent coverage for listeners across northeast Ohio.
   

4. Hubbard's Mark Boals joins Rock Godz in hall of fame (tribtoday.com) — Hubbard native and longtime rocker Mark Boals, who once played the Youngstown Agora with his band Lazer, is being inducted into the Rock Godz Hall of Fame in Las Vegas this November. Before that, he'll be back on a local stage Oct. 3 at Warren's Robins Theatre with the Baldassarre Orchestra, bringing classic rock favorites to fans just a short drive from Youngstown.
