• Chamber Depot to keep its 27-foot Christmas tree and train (bartlesvilleradio.com) — Christmas in the Ville will mark its 10th anniversary with a Dec. 4 kickoff at Unity Square, where the popular ice rink is moving while the Chamber Depot keeps its towering tree and train. Bartlesville's Chamber is expanding activities, leveraging Unity Square's stage and lighting, and expects the attraction to keep drawing regional visitors who boost local tourism and sales tax revenues.

• Battle of the marching bands at Holdenville (lcnok.com) — Area high school bands are tuning up for a busy contest season that includes the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association State Championships in Bartlesville on Oct. 10. Stroud, North Rock Creek and others will bring their shows here soon, giving Bartlesville residents a chance to see top marching performances while the town hosts a major statewide music event.
