📰 News we're reading

• Rotten-egg smell in Owasso traced to Catoosa tanker trailer, not a gas leak (newson6.com) — Catoosa residents should know that a strong rotten-egg odor reported across nearby Owasso and Collinsville was traced to mercaptan being cleaned from a tanker trailer at a Catoosa business near the Port, not a natural gas leak. Officials say winds carried the smell toward Owasso, prompting many 911 calls, and they urge people to reserve 911 for true emergencies while using non-emergency lines for odor questions.

• SOFTBALL: Catoosa reaches 20 wins for first time in 12 years (claremoreprogress.com) — Catoosa's softball team just clinched its first 20-win season since 2014, capping a huge turnaround with a 34-run doubleheader sweep of Nathan Hale. Behind big bats from Ella Remington and Dalaney Sakewicz and solid pitching, the Lady Indians now head to Class 4A Regional 9 in Mannford, opening against Eufaula as they try to extend this breakthrough season.

• Tulsa Traffic Advisory 9-30-26 (oklahoma.gov) — Drivers in and around Catoosa should plan for ongoing lane closures on I-44, SH-66, and the Will Rogers Turnpike ramp to westbound I-44 as part of a long-term interchange improvement project. Two lanes will stay open during peak times, but narrowed lanes, reduced speeds, and nearby construction on other Tulsa-area highways mean extra travel time and careful route planning are essential.
