26-Year-Old Man Shot On Interstate-84; Morrow County Deputy Involved; Few Details Available

The deputy reportedly stopped for a disabled vehicle on I-84 outside Boardman around 2 a.m. Then, somehow, the driver was shot.

BOARDMAN, OR — A Morrow County Deputy was reportedly involved in a shooting during a traffic stop on Interstate-84 outside Boardman early Friday. The trooper was unhurt but the 26-year-old male victim was taken to hospital with apparent injuries.

Details are scarce at this time, but it appears the shooting occurred after a deputy — who is still unnamed — stopped for a disabled vehicle near I-84 exit 164 around 2 a.m. Sept. 22.

Police say the man — who is also still unnamed — was armed when the deputy encountered him but did not explain why shots were fired, who shot what, or to what extent the man was wounded.
