• Lincoln City selects 14 nonprofits to receive $139,000 in grants • Lincoln Chronicle (lincolnchronicle.org) — Lincoln City is awarding $139,000 in grants to 14 nonprofits, backing services from animal welfare and senior support to family shelter, literacy, and emergency preparedness. Checks will be presented Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. in council chambers, with groups like Family Promise of Lincoln County, My Sisters Place, and North Lincoln County CERT among the recipients.

• Lincoln City Police Dispatch Log 9/25-9/27/26 (lincolncityhomepage.com) — Recent Lincoln City police calls between Sept. 25 and 27 included arrests for menacing with a gun, alleged assaults and fights at local motels and businesses, drug and weapons charges at Chinook Winds Casino, and several harassment and protection-order violations. The log also notes warrant arrests, a reported missing person who was located safely, and theft and traffic cases around town.

• Washington-based bank with three Lincoln County branches is merging with a Florida company • Lincoln Chronicle (lincolnchronicle.org) — Customers who use WaFd's Lincoln City branch will see their bank folded into EverBank as part of a $3.9 billion merger expected to close in early 2027. The combined institution will carry the EverBank name, operate a 254-branch network, and manage about $75 billion in assets, with leaders promising more scale while keeping existing consumer and business services in place.
