Missing Portland Woman: Search Suspended
Anna Schmidt has not been seen since October 16.

After a weekend in which more than 150 volunteers searched for 21-year-old Anna Schmidt without success, the search was suspended, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office announced Sunday evening.
Schmidt was last seen on October 16 and reported missing on the 19th. Her was later found off Interstate 84's exit 40 by the Bonneville Dam in the Columbia River Gorge.
Search and rescue volunteers searched more than 150 miles of trails through the Gorge. In addition to personnel from the Multnomah County Sheriff Office's Search and Rescue unit, there were volunteers from the MCSO Trail Hornets and SAR resources from Washington County Sheriff's Office, Clatsop County Sheriff's Office, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Hood River County Sheriff's Office, The FLIR Corporation and Portland Police Bureau air units, Pacific Northwest SAR, Portland Mountain Rescue, Mountain Wave SAR, The Crag Rats, and Northern Oregon SAR, and others have searched over 150 miles of the trail system in the Columbia Gorge over the last three days. Searches were conducted using ground, air, and K9 resources.

There are no signs of foul play. Investigators are concerned that she may have gotten lost or injured hiking in the Gorge.
Schmidt is described as a white female, 5'4", 125 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.
