Longtime residents report seeing more animals than ever on home cameras, and many are searching for humane ways to deter them while local wildlife-removal companies have yet to respond with clear solutions.
   

2. Elevated Levels of Lead Surround Local Oregon Airports (insideclimatenews.org) — Residents near Hillsboro, Troutdale, and Portland International airports face elevated lead levels linked to fuel used by small aircraft, with the Hillsboro Airport ranking among the nation's highest emitters. Portland State and Oregon State researchers are expanding testing to nearby soils, while the Hillsboro City Council and Port of Portland push for a faster transition to unleaded aviation fuel.
   

3. After 13 years, Montavilla Jazz Festival has become a destination for dozens of Pacific Northwest musicians (opb.org) — Portland's Montavilla neighborhood just wrapped another Montavilla Jazz Festival, showcasing dozens of local musicians performing original work across several venues.
