Why People Need To STOP Moving To Portland Oregon (No Kidding!)

People really need to stop moving to Portland, no seriously it's not so great after all!

According to OregonMetro.gov and, over 111 people moved to Portland Oregon every day from 2014-2015, but this number keeps getting higher and higher. Just about everyone and their mom is moving to Portland and it needs to stop! Riviton Marketing has also conducted several social media surveys that indicate Portland is the #1 destination to move to in the US from another US state.

Portland is desirable, however it's becoming more and more clogged with people because the city infrastructure cannot handle the influx of mass movement of people into the area.

This isn't just causing problems for transportation and traffic etc, but it's causing the hugest issue with people moving who are looking for houses to rent or buy. The mean value of real estate has nearly tripled and many rent hikes have almost driven existing residents out. There's just not enough space and it's increasingly becoming a NOT-SO-AWESOME place to move to , but people just keep flooding into the area!

If you're thinking about moving to Portland, you might want to think twice, because it's fast becoming a less and less desirable place to live due to the massive increase in population and increase in housing and living costs.

Although some may argue that moving to portland is still the best place, I've gotta argue that Portland isn't the destination you should move to, instead maybe move into a rural area where you can still travel to Portland, but seriously, moving to portland isn't as sugar coated as you might think!

A marketing research study by MovingQuoter and Riviton Marketing also noted that the cost to move to portland via any moving company isn't unreasonable by any means and quotes are stable and affordable, however the real cost is when you land your feet in beautiful (expensive) Portland and discover that you'll be paying through the nose for any place to stay!

Maybe Portland really isn't the "place to be" what are your thoughts?
