• Salem woman drove on sidewalk before hitting school bus, police say (koin.com) — A Salem woman was cited after allegedly driving her sedan onto a sidewalk and sideswiping a Salem-Keizer school bus near Pine Street NE and Myrtle Avenue NE, with no injuries reported. Salem police identified the 66-year-old driver on Oct. 3, issued criminal citations for reckless driving and hit-and-run property damage, and turned the ongoing case over to the Marion County District Attorney's Office.
   

• Oregon state Rep. Paul Evans accused of drunken hit-and-run with stop sign in Independence • Oregon Capital Chronicle (oregoncapitalchronicle.com) — State Rep. Paul Evans, who represents a district that includes southwest and West Salem, was arrested in Independence on suspicion of drunken driving and a hit-and-run that damaged a stop sign. Prosecutors charged him with several misdemeanors, his release bars alcohol use and bar visits, and he has pleaded not guilty while continuing his campaign for reelection this November.
