• New Study Shows CAHOOTS Diverted Far More Police Calls Than Previously Estimated (news-usa.today) — Residents in Springfield may feel the impact of Eugene's decision to cut funding for the CAHOOTS crisis-response program, which still runs vans in Springfield but no longer operates inside Eugene. A new University of Oregon study finds CAHOOTS diverted far more police calls than earlier estimates suggested, offering data local leaders could use when debating how to handle mental health, homelessness, and low-level emergency calls in the Eugene-Springfield area.
   

• Top Workplaces 2026: 44 midsize Oregon and SW Washington employers honored (oregonlive.com) — Two Springfield-based employers, Olsson Industrial Electric and Aggregate Resource Industries, earned spots on the 2026 Top Workplaces list for midsize Oregon and Southwest Washington companies. The ranking, based on employee surveys, highlights a range of strong regional employers and may interest Springfield jobseekers or residents curious about standout local workplaces and career options across the state.
   

• Oregon Arts Commission Awards $150,000 in Arts Learning Grants (theashlandchronicle.com) — Springfield students will benefit from a $10,000 Oregon Arts Commission grant supporting #Instaballet workshops in local Life Skills classrooms, offered in partnership with Eugene schools and the Lane Education Service District. The funding is part of $150,000 awarded statewide to expand arts learning, bringing more hands-on creative opportunities into K–12 classrooms across Oregon this coming year.
