2020 Candidate Mike Bloomberg To Campaign In Philadelphia
Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg, fresh off a Super Bowl campaign ad, will speak in Philadelphia Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, fresh off a Super Bowl campaign ad, will speak in Philadelphia Tuesday.
Since entering the race back in late November, Bloomberg, a billionaire businessman and the former mayor of New York City, has risen gradually in the polls. According to an average of recent national polls from RealClearPolitics, he's currently in fourth place behind Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren.
Bloomberg will speak on stage at the National Constitution Center, and will address "why he is the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump in November and unite the country."

Bloomberg opened a field office in Old City in Philadelphia back in December. Pennsylvania is expected to be a crucial swing state in the upcoming general election, and could play a key role in the primary race, too. The Pennsylvania primary will be held on April 28.
Former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will join Bloomberg on stage Tuesday. Bloomberg will also have the support of former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Dhani Jones on stage.

While some on the left were concerned about Bloomberg's entry into the race and the influence of money in politics — Bloomberg's campaign is almost entirely self-funded — others welcomed a moderate candidate (and former Republican) who has expressed confidence in his ability to sway swing voters.
Bloomberg spent $10 million on commercials during the Super Bowl Sunday night, the same amount spent by President Trump for his commercials. Bloomberg's also promised to continue to spend money in support of the Democratic candidate this fall, even if that candidate isn't him.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for the event Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. estimated start time.
