WATCH: Montco Congressman Boyle Interviewed On CNN About Russia, Attorney General

Montgomery County's U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle was on CNN Thursday talking to Wolf Blitzer about the investigation into the attorney general.

Montgomery County's U.S. Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA D-13) was on CNN Thursday, speaking to anchor Wolf Blitzer regarding Attorney General Jeff Sessions, perjury, and his alleged Russian connections.

Boyle joins most Democratic and a growing number of Republican lawmakers who are calling for Sessions, the top lawyer in the country, to recuse himself from the investigation.

The Washington Post on Wednesday reported Sessions, a Trump campaign advisor, met twice with Russia's ambassador last year during the election season. The meetings were not disclosed during his Senate confirmation hearing as attorney general, even when asked directly by Senator Al Franken (D-Minn).

Boyle was quick to point out that it's not that there is necessarily anything wrong with meeting the Russian ambassador, but the fact that it was lied about raises a lot of questions.

"If it was innocuous, why didn't he just say that?" Boyle said. "I think he either committed perjury or came really close. Either way, he shouldn't be attorney general of the United States."

But for Boyle, the most important thing, regardless of Sessions' guilt, innocence, or intent, is that he not involved in an investigation of himself.

"Let's not lose focus on what really matters, and that is that we need a special prosecutor now," Boyle said.

Southeastern Pennsylvania Republican Congressmen, including Rep. Pat Meehan (R PA-7) and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R PA-8) are among those on the right who concur with Boyle and the Democrats on this issue.
