Amazon Announces Layoffs At PA Warehouses
A Jan. 4 notice announcing the layoffs said workers at eight Pennsylvania Amazon warehouses would be affected.

PENNSYLVANIA — Nearly 300 contract workers who provide janitorial services to several Amazon warehouses in Pennsylvania will be laid off in March when their contract with the e-commerce company ends, according to state records and a report.
Newbold Services LLC filed a WARN notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry notifying the state that 294 people will be laid off on March 5.
According to a PennLive.com report, the employees will be laid off because Amazon's contract with the company will not be renewed. The employees will have the opportunity to interview for jobs with Amazon's new vendor, PennLive.com reported.
