400 Products Recalled From Dollar Store Shelves In PA

Products from Family Dollar stores in Pennsylvania have been recalled because they were stored at the wrong temperatures.

PENNSYLVANIA — Products from Family Dollar stores in Pennsylvania and around the country have been recalled because they were stored at the wrong temperatures. All told, Family Dollars in 47 states have been impacted by the incident.

Chiefly, the recall concerns health and hygiene products like sunscreen, toothpaste, pain relievers, and ointments. The full list of recalled products is available here.

The company said they "inadvertently" shipped the products to certain of its various chain locations from May 1 through June 10, according to a company announcement shared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Family Dollar said they hadn't received any consumer complaints or reports of illness related to the recall as of last Thursday.

Dollar Tree owns Family Dollar, but the recall notice makes no mention of Dollar Tree stores.

Family Dollar says it notified affected stores, asking them to immediately check stock and to quarantine and discontinue the sale of any affected items. Customers who may have bought impacted products can return them, without a receipt, to the Family Dollar store where they purchased them.

Customers with questions about the recall can contact Family Dollar Customer Service at 844-636-7687 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Patrons should contact their physician or health care provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to using any of the impacted products.
