Bed Bath & Beyond Closing Two PA Stores
Bed Bath & Beyond has announced the closing of 37 stores.

PENNSYLVANIA — Two Pennsylvania Bed Bath & Beyond stores are among 37 nationwide that will shut down as part of a broad downsizing plan, the company announced this week.
About 200 stores will be shuttered this year, with the two locations in the state among the first 37 that have begun liquidation sales and will close by the end of February.
The two Pennsylvania locations that will close are in York and in the Pittsburgh area, in Ross Township.

Bed Bath & Beyond is also remodeling 450 stores, about half of its locations, at a cost of $250 million to try to stem falling sales. Shoppers have turned to competitors such as Target and Amazon in recent years.
The growing number of stores to be shuttered has increased due to failure to reach favorable lease agreements with some of its landlords, according to previous reports.

Each of the closing stores is currently offering liquidation sales, according to the home goods mega-chain.
The massive closures at Bed Bath & Beyond were initially announced in 2019, prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
