The Swartz, the Park’s Newest Black Diamond Technical Trail is Also Now Open
PALMERTON, Penn. – Blue Mountain Resort, located in the foothills of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, announces new challenging downhill trails for experienced, expert bikers to conquer – Upper Empire and The Swartz – just in time to bike the scenic mountainside and take in the stunning fall foliage display, known to be one of the best in the U.S.
At Pennsylvania’s largest downhill mountain park, Upper Empire is the most difficult rated jump trail – being half a mile long and featuring large tabletop jumps as well as a large wooden drop. Upper Empire connects to the park’s Lower Empire and can be accessed from El Camino and Miles Of Smiles just below the intersection of these two trails. Upper and Lower Empire are the park’s most difficult freeride trails, created for serious bikers who are comfortable with challenging jumps and drops.
Also recently opened is The Swartz, the park’s newest black diamond technical trail. This rocky, loamy singletrack can be found off of Boulevard – bringing the park’s total open trail count to 28. A unique feature at this bike park is the designated Blue Mountain Comet Quad Lift with its easy direct access to downhill biking. The bike park will stay open through Halloween.
