LEWISTON, PA — A Pennsylvania toddler ended up in a not-so-sweet situation this week when she got her head stuck in a cake pan, according to multiple reports. Luckily, a group of firefighters swiftly came to her rescue.

Firefighters with the Junction Fire Company in Lewistown received a 911 call Monday after 2-year-old Quinnley and her parents couldn't remove the cake pan from around her neck, WGAL reported.

"She wore it kind of like a shawl around her shoulders until the firemen got there," Quinnley's mother, Erin Meixel, told WGAL. "She was a trooper. She was still able to eat and drink while she had this tin around her."

Firefighters used tin snips to remove the cake pan from Quinnley's neck, WPVI reported. The toddler was not injured during the mishap.

As for Quinnley's mother, her daughter's experience is one to add to a collection of family mishaps. Firefighters once came to her aid as a child when she got her legs stuck in a plastic chair, Meixel told WPVI.

Quinnley is hardly the first kid to find herself in a perilous place thanks to curiosity.

In 2019, two Phoenix teens were locked out of the house. One decided to slide down the chimney, which turned out to be a terrible idea. Nicole, 17, was wedged in the chimney for about an hour before Phoenix firefighters could pluck her out.

The same year, a New Jersey police officer rescued a 19-month-old stuck in his toy. And the following year, a crowd gathered after a child got stuck in New York City's famed Washington Park fountain. After draining the water, emergency responders used soap and water to free the child.
