Snow, Freezing Rain Moving Into Eastern PA: See Latest Forecast
The snowiest winter in years is not over yet, but forecasters are pointing to 60 and 70 degree days on the near horizon. Details:
A new band of freezing rain and possible snow is moving into the greater Philadelphia area, bringing more winter weather impacts before much warmer weather moves into the region, according to forecasters.
A bit of snow is possible in the southern part of the Delaware Valley Monday, though the city is unlikely to be touched. More significant chances will come into the early morning hours Tuesday, with rain, freezing rain, and snow mixing together throughout the morning hours, forecasters said.

Officials do not expect major impacts, with accumulations likely to be minimal.

"The next day or so will be colder with some wintry precipitation to start the day Tuesday," the National Weather Service's Mt. Holly, New Jersey branch shared. "But this won’t be a big storm with any snowfall mainly under an inch and any ice accretion a few hundredths of an inch or less. Then it gets warmer."
The burst of wintry mix will fade into rain for much of the rest of the week, with rain possible from later on Tuesday through the early part of Friday, forecasters said.

As precipitation continues, however, temperatures will spike up sharply, rising to the mid 50s on Wednesday, high 50s Thursday, low 60s Friday, and even into the 70s by the weekend.
"During the middle to late week, a pattern change will take shape across the United States," Accuweather said. "A notable dip in the jet stream will take hold across the west, ushering in chilly air. Meanwhile, a northward bulge in the jet stream will set up across the east, promoting a stretch of springlike warmth."
The snow and freezing rain on Tuesday will add to what has been the snowiest winter in the region for years. Not since 2013-2014 has Philadelphia and the immediate vicinty seen more snow, the National Weather Service said.
