2018 Review: Model Strangled To Death In Ardmore Condo

One of 2018's biggest local stories: a former model was found strangled to death in her Ardmore condo and the accused is facing trial.

When authorities found the body of former Playboy model Kristina Kraft in her Ardmore condo, the community was in shock.

The 36-year-old model was strangled to death in her Sibley Avenue residence on Aug. 22 which launched an investigation by local and county authorities.

Later, police identified two people in connection with the murder, and later issued a warrant for 31-year-old Jonathan Harris of Johnstown after he was seen on camera with Craft in the early morning hours of Aug. 22 in Center City Philadelphia where the two apparently met that night.

They then went back to her condo where the murder happened.

Harris was caught all the way out in Pittsburgh getting off a bus several days later. He faces numerous charges, including murder robbery, kidnapping, and more.

He is awaiting a May 2019 trial.

Woman Found Strangled To Death In Main Line Condo: DA

A woman's body was found at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in a home on the 100 block of Sibley Avenue in Ardmore after police went to the home for a welfare check. When police, arrived they found her dead in the bedroom.

Man Sought In Connection With Ardmore Murder

Kristina Kraft and the murder suspect were seen in the area of South Broad and Locust streets in Center City Philadelphia. Authorities said the man was also seen near the SEPTA station at 15th and Market streets. The DA's office said the man may also have used a rideshare car to get from 13th and Locust streets to Sibley Avenue in Ardmore.

Ardmore Murder Suspect Arrested In Pittsburgh: District Attorney

Jonathan Wesley Harris, 30, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after getting off a bus in Pittsburgh thanks to tips from the public. He was charged with first-, second-, and third-degree murder; robbery; theft by unlawful taking; receiving stolen property; and possession of an instrument of crime with intent to commit a crime.

Ardmore Murder Suspect Denied Bail

Harris, 30, of Johnstown, was held without bail at his Aug. 30 preliminary arraignment, court records show after being accused of killing Kraft in her Ardmore condo.

Ardmore Model Allegedly Killed In Fight Over Drugs

According to the statement shared in court, Harris said he had agreed to sell Kraft $1,200 worth of cocaine. He said the two went back to her apartment, used some of the drugs and had sex Shortly after, Kraft refused to pay him and a fight ensued.
