LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion Township released information on crimes in the township over the past month.

Incidents occurred between April 28 and May 22.

May 22

  • Theft from Vehicle (Gladwyne) - An unlocked vehicle in Township Park was entered and a wallet and credit cards were taken.
  • Burglary (Belmont Hills) - Vacant house forcibly entered and copper piping, a boiler and hot water heater were taken.

  • Assault (Ardmore) - Actor threatened a neighbor with a knife, threatening to kill him. Actor taken into custody without incident.

May 20

  • Robbery (Bala Cynwyd) - Actor entered a convenience store and displayed a handgun to the cashier and removed cash from the registers. Actor then fled in an unknown direction.
  • Vehicle Theft (Ardmore) - A Hyundai parked in the parking lot of an apartment building had the rear window broken out and the steering column and ignition were damaged. Actors seen fleeing the car after alarm went off.
  • Burglary (Gladwyne) - Resident was on third floor of residence when a male entered the bedroom and then fled. Multiple actors heard within the residence and fled in an unknown direction. Multiple bedrooms on second floor ransacked and it is unknown exactly what has been taken at this time.

May 19

  • Vehicle Theft (Villanova) - Victim observed suspect exiting his vehicle, a Range Rover, as he attempted to lock the vehicle from inside his residence.
  • Burglary (Gladwyne) - Property manager alerted to security alarm and discovered force to a window in the library. Actor(s) do not appear to have entered the residence past the library before leaving. No known loss at this time.
  • Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Homeowner inside the residence overheard a noise from a second story bedroom window and observed an actor attempting to rip open the screen. Multiple actors seen fleeing through the backyard. No entry gained into residence.

May 18

  • Criminal Mischief (Bala) - Female actor arrested for breaking the window out of a building and breaking the rear window of a vehicle.
  • Burglary (Ardmore) - Rear door of a residence found with attempted force and a broken door knob. No entry appeared to have been gained into the residence.

May 17

  • Theft of Vehicle (Ardmore) - Vehicle purchased fraudulently through local dealership.

May 16

  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bala) - Unlocked vehicle in parking lot of fitness center entered, and a wallet was stolen from under the seat.

May 15

  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bala) - Mitsubishi Outlander parked in a parking lot had its catalytic converter removed.

May 12

  • Purse Snatching (Ardmore) - Purse left unattended in shopping cart stolen by an actor(s). Purse later recovered at bus stop.
  • Burglary (Haverford) - Entry gained by breaking a 2nd floor balcony door. Master bedroom and guest bedroom ransacked.

May 10

  • Burglary (Wynnewood) - Entry gained by breaking a rear glass sliding door. Interior of residence ransacked, no known loss at this time.
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle (Bryn Mawr) - Ranger Rover stolen from a parking lot in Bryn Mawr. Vehicle was unlocked with keys left inside and left in an unknown direction. Investigation continuing.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bryn Mawr) - License plate stolen off of a Ford Sedan by a known party. Investigation continuing.

May 7

  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bala) - A Jeep Wrangler parked in a parking garage had its catalytic converter removed.

May 5

  • Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Apartment entered by known party. Actor vandalized the interior of the apartment and threatened the victim. Investigation continuing.

May 4

  • Robbery (Bryn Mawr) - Apple iPad stolen from employee. Suspect last seen running through parking lot, area checked and suspect unable to be located.
  • Burglary (Bala) - Laptop stolen from a closed business. Front door to business forced open.

May 2

  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bala) - Rear vehicle window smashed out. Vehicle ransacked and cash stolen.

May 1

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle (Wynnewood) - BMW stolen.
  • Purse Snatching (Ardmore) - Purse stolen from customer while shopping in Ardmore
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Overbrook) - Multiple unlocked vehicles parked along roadway. Vehicles ransacked, wallet and purse stolen.

April 30

  • Purse Snatching (Bala) - Purse stolen from customer while shopping in Bala Cynwyd

April 29

  • Theft Of Motor Vehicle (Green Hill Farms) - Hyundai Kona Stolen
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Overbrook) - Unlocked vehicle parked on the street. Vehicle ransacked, nothing missing at this time.

April 28

  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bryn Mawr) - Unlocked vehicle in parking lot. Vehicle ransacked, nothing missing at this time.
  • Attempted Theft of Vehicle (Bala) - Vehicle parked along roadway had window smashed out, and steering column ripped apart. Nothing appears to be missing from the vehicle at this time.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bala) - Unlocked vehicle parked in driveway. Interior of vehicle gone through but no known loss at this time.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bala) - Unlocked vehicle parked along a roadway. Interior of vehicle gone through, purse and cash stolen.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Bala) - Vehicle parked along the roadway had a window smashed out. Interior of vehicle gone through, purse and cash stolen.
