Burglaries, Stolen Vehicles, More: Lower Merion Crime Blotter

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion Township have been dealing with burglaries, thefts from vehicles, and vehicle thefts recently.

Below are details on the latest crime incidents in the township:

Dec. 14

• Burglary (Gladwyne) - Officers responding to a security alarm discovered a broken second floor window. The interior of the residence showed ransacking to the master bedroom. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Dec. 12

• Attempt Theft of Vehicle (Penn Wynne) - The victim reported that they discovered the driver's side window of their Dodge was broken out in the overnight hours while parked along the street in front of the residence. The ignition of the vehicle was tampered with. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
• Theft of Vehicle (Penn Wynne) - The victim reported that their Infinity was stolen from in front of their residence in the overnight hours. The investigation into the incident is continuing.

Dec. 11

• Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - The victim reported that their Toyota was stolen from the driveway of their residence in the overnight hours. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
• Attempt Burglary (Bala Cynwyd) - Officers responded to a local business on a security alarm and upon arrival found damage to both the rear and front door of the business. No entry appeared to be gained by the actors. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Dec. 10

• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Officers responded to the report of multiple suspicious actors seen entering multiple vehicles in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the overnight hours. Upon police arrival, the actors fled the scene and were later taken into custody by officers. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - The victim reported that the front passenger side window of their Mazda was broken out and the interior of the vehicle was gone through overnight while parked in the parking lot of their apartment complex. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - While investigating the above incident, officers located an Audi with its front passenger window broken out. The interior of the vehicle appeared to have been gone through. The victim advised the incident occurred overnight while parked in the parking lot of their apartment complex. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - The victim reported that the rear passenger window of their Volvo was broken out and the interior of the vehicle had been gone through while parked in the parking lot of their apartment complex in the overnight hours. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - The victim reported that their Nissan was entered and gone through overnight while parked in the parking lot of their apartment complex. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

• Theft of Wallet (Ardmore) - The victim advised that their wallet was removed from their purse while making a delivery to a local store. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Dec. 5

• Theft of Vehicle (Merion Station) - The victim's Toyota was stolen in the overnight hours while parked along the street in front of their residence. The Toyota had been left unlocked with the keys inside. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Ardmore) - The victim's unlocked BMW was entered and gone through overnight while parked in the driveway of their residence. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Attempted Burglary (Wynnewood) - The victim reported that in the overnight hours a male was observed entering a Porsche which was parked in the driveway of the residence. The male was then observed walking around the exterior of the residence, stopping at multiple doors. No entry into the residence was gained. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Dec. 3

• Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - The victim's Nissan was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the overnight hours. Broken glass from what appeared to be a passenger side window was discovered in the spot where the vehicle had been last seen. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - The victim's Nissan was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the overnight hours. Broken glass from what appeared to be the rear windshield was discovered in the spot where the vehicle had been last seen. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - The license plate from a Ford was removed from a vehicle. There is an unknown time frame for the theft. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Theft of Vehicle (Merion Station) - The victim's Honda was stolen sometime between this date and Dec. 1 while parked along the roadway in front of their residence. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
• Burglary (Villanova) - The victim returned to their residence at approximately 2 p.m. and discovered an actor in the master bedroom of their residence. The actor fled on foot and was taken into custody by officers canvassing the area a short time later. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
