The forum is sure to be a lively discussion about topics impacting our community such as: healthcare, immigration, homeless, poverty, caring for our earth, and much more.

“Dr. King once said, ‘of all forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane,'" Evans said in a statement. "I find these words and Dr. King’s teachings to have such a profound meaning in the current political climate we face."

Sunday's talk will "highlight how the GOP Tax Scam runs counter to the society we want to live in," according to a release from Evans office.

"When we think about the GOP Tax Scam and what this means for the continued viability of our neighborhoods we must ask ourselves a simple question, ‘what kind of society do we want to live in?’ If we want to live in a society where we are our brother’s and sister’s keeper, we must do all we can to lift up our neighbors, support our family and friends, and care for our earth and the people around us," Evans said. "The GOP Tax Scam runs counter to the society we want to live in. I hope you will join me this weekend for an important dialogue about how the power of our voices and actions will create the change we desire.
