Drive-By Shooting Injures 1 Just Outside Lower Merion: Police

The victim was walking down the street just blocks from Lower Merion's border when a vehicle pulled up and bullets started flying.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP – A 21-year-old man is recovering after being shot in a drive-by shooting early Tuesday evening just blocks from Lower Merion Township in West Philadelphia, according to police.

Police said they were called to the 4300 block of Monument Road just beyond City Avenue at about 8:58 p.m. Tuesday for a shooting.

A 21-year-old man was found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest, police said.

He was rushed to Lankenau Hospital where he is listed in stable condition, according to police.

Police said the man was shot while walking on that block when a vehicle pulled up and began firing at him.

There is no description of the shooter or the vehicle.

Police are investigating the incident.
