DUI Crackdown In Lower Merion Township This Weekend
You should never drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and police will be out this weekend catch any impaired drivers.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – You should never drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. But this weekend you'll really want to ensure you have a designated driver or car ready to pick you up as Lower Merion Township Police are conducting DUI checkpoints and DUI roving patrols during a DUI crackdown.
Police said the DUI enforcement effort will be underway from Thursday, June 14 through Sunday, June 17 throughout the township.
The weekend initiative is part of a national effort to crackdown on DUI, which featured intensified, highly visible enforcement activities using the tagline "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."

Sobriety checkpoints are highly visible, systematic methods for stopping vehicles to determine whether drivers are operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
The sobriety checkpoint is being funded by a PennDOT grant and is one of many tools utilized to increase public safety through increased awareness created by high profile enforcement, police said.
