Gas Leak Closes Ardmore Stores Tuesday: Fire Company
The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore said construction crews struck a gas line in the afternoon on Tuesday, forcing area stores to close.

ARDMORE, PA – Several businesses were forced to close Tuesday after a gas leak plagued the area of Suburban Square, according to the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore.
Fire officials said they were called to Suburban Square at about 12:37 p.m. Tuesday after construction crews struck a gas line.
St James Place and six business were shut down and evacuated until the gas leak was controlled by PECO.

Firefighters ventilated some stores and monitored for pockets of gas until the gas was capped at 2 p.m.
The fire department was on scene until 2:30 p.m.

No one was injured.
