Harriton HS Girls Tennis Headed To States After District Title Win
The Rams took the reigning champion West Chester Henderson Warriors down 3-2.

Harriton High School has cause to celebrate, as its girls varsity tennis team recently won the District I AAA championship over West Chester Henderson by a score of 3-2, according to Lower Merion School District
The district said the West Chester Henderson Warriors took an early lead, 2-0 in the title match. But sophomores Nina Hoog and Connie Richards won at third and second singles, respectively, tying the score at 2-2, the district said.
Sophomore Sophia Sassoli then secured the titles in first singles by overcoming her opponent in straight sets of 6-2 and 6-4, the district said.

Harriton's racquet-wielding Rams will now advance to the PIAA AAA State Playoffs, the district said.
Led by Hoog, Sassoli, and Richards, the Rams entered the District playoffs on a nine-match winning streak as the third seed and were looking to carry their momentum into the postseason. The Rams made quick work of the tournament's first three rounds, trouncing Abington, 5-0; Downingtown West, 4-1; and Radnor, 3-1 to find themselves in the finals against West Chester Henderson, the district said.
