'Infidelity' Scam Hits Lower Merion, Demanding Money From Unfaithful Spouses

Letters delivered to Lower Merion area homes demand money be paid or else the recipient's "infidelity" will be exposed.

LOWER MERION, PA -- Lower Merion Police are warning of a new scam striking the Main Line and Montgomery County area. Residents are coming home to find a letter addressed to them stating that they know about their "infidelity" and that they must pay up in order to have the evidence destroyed.

Police said that some version of the letter below has been delivered to several homes in the township and surrounding area.

The letters are usually personally addressed and threaten to "expose" the recipient if they do not pay. A sample letter has been provided by police.
