Jaguar Hits Truck, Rolls Saturday Morning In Wynnewood

Officials with Lower Merion Township said speed is believed to have played a role and are investigating whether or not impairment did, too.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – A high-end vehicle crashed early Saturday morning, striking another vehicle and rolling over several times before hitting roadside street lights and mail boxes, in Wynnewood Saturday night, authorities said.

According to Lower Merion Township officials, the crash occurred at about 6:34 a.m. on the 1400 block of City Avenue when a blue Jaguar X-Type was traveling at high speeds and lost control.

When the Jaguar lost control, it crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and hit the back passenger side of a red Ford F150 truck, officials said.

The Jaguar then rolled and struck a street light and then a mailbox on the southbound side of the road.

The vehicle finally came to rest after it struck another street light near the City Avenue-Rockglen Road intersection, according to officials.

The Jaguar driver sustained significant injuries and is listed in stable condition, officials said.

The Ford driver told responders he felt pain and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officials said neither drivers' injuries appear to be life threatening.

Police believe speed did play a role in the crash and are investigating whether or not impairment was a factor in the crash.
