LMPD Enforcing Teen Seat Belt Use For 2 Weeks
The two-week-long enforcement effort is part of the National Teen Driver Safety Week to ensure teen drivers are staying safe on the roads.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Lower Merion Township Police will be out in force next week enforcing seat belt laws that required all vehicle occupants under 18 to wear a seat belt and to encourage safe driving practices in teens.
From Oct. 16 to Oct. 27, Lower Merion Police will be conducting seat belt enforcement activities near Lower Merion and Harriton high schools, as well as on various other roads in Lower Merion Township.
Police hope the efforts will increase teen seat belt use and bring attention to the state law requiring all vehicle occupants under 18 to wear a seat belt.

Additionally, police said drivers and front-seat passengers who are 18 or older and not wearing seat belts will be cited if they are stopped for a traffic violation.
The message is simple: "click it or ticket."
