Lower Merion Area Blood Drives To Address Low Supplies
The recent harsh weather prompted many blood drives to be canceled. Some upcoming drives in the Lower Merion area aim to bolster supplies.

LOWER MERION, PA – Blood donations took a major blow during recent harsh weather that plagued the Philadelphia region for days. The American Red Cross said more than 150 blood drives in the are were forced to cancel, causing more than 5,500 blood and platelet donations to go uncollected.
This is in addition to seasonal illnesses, such as the flu, and hectic holiday schedules collectively contributing to more than 28,000 fewer donations than what were needed in November and December.
Luckily, the Lower Merion area can help bolster the supplies by donating at several upcoming blood drives.
