Lower Merion Increasing Trash And Brush, Special Collection Fees

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, residents in Lower Merion Township will have to pay a bit more for trash and brush drop off, as well as special collection services.

According to the township, fees to drop off trash, leaves, brush, and more at the Township's Transfer Station will increase from 4 cents per pound to 10 cents per pound.

While the $25 collection fee for large items such as refrigerators, air conditioners, or stoves remains unchanged, residents who have three large items for collection will pay $30, which is up from the previous $15 fee.

The increases are to ensure the township’s fees are accurately covering the cost of providing these services, the township said.

The transfer station, AKA the Koegel Public Works Complex, is located at 1300 N. Woodbine Avenue in Penn
Valley.
