Man Arrested For Theft Twice In One Day In Lower Merion

He has a history with Lower Merion Police. He was charged with retail theft five other times in Lower Merion in 2017 and 2016, records show.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – A Philadelphia man was arrested twice in one day by Lower Merion Township Police earlier this week for allegedly stealing from a liquor store then a Rite Aid just hours later.

Rome Antonio Culler, 23, of Philadelphia, was arrested twice on Nov. 5 for two retail theft and receiving stolen property incidents in Lower Merion Township.

First, he was arrested after allegedly stealing items from a liquor store on City Avenue that day at about 2:45 p.m., according to court records and Main Line Media News.

Culler was taken into custody and arraigned. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

About seven hours after he was released, Culler was arrested again after he allegedly stole hundreds of dollars in merchandise from Rite Aid on Lancaster Avenue, the outlet reports.

Culler was then jailed after failing to post a new bail set at his second preliminary arraignment.

Culler is slated to appear for preliminary hearings for the two theft incidents on Nov. 16 and Nov. 20 court records show. In both cases, he faces felony retail theft and misdemeanor receiving stolen property charges.

Culler has had numerous run ins with Lower Merion Police recently, according to court documents.

He has pleaded guilty to five retail theft charges stemming from incidents in 2017 and 2016.
