Man, Teen Busted For Lower Merion Car Break-Ins: Authorities

The two are accused of breaking into numerous vehicles and stealing various items from them in Lower Merion Township Sunday evening.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – An 18-year-old man and a juvenile have been arrested and charged after allegedly breaking into numerous vehicles in Lower Merion Township, according to authorities.

Curtis Herbert Phillips, 18, of Philadelphia, and an unnamed juvenile are accused of stealing from vehicles in the township on July 22.

Phillips has been charged with 10 counts each of theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property; six counts of attempted theft from a vehicle; and two counts of conspiring to commit theft from a motor vehicle, court records show.

Phillips was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following his July 23 preliminary arraignment, according to court documents.

Phillips and the juvenile were arrested July 22 after being spotted in a Lower Merion home's yard and when they were stopped police found them to be in possession of items that were allegedly stolen from vehicles in the area, Main Line Media News reports.

Phillips is set to appear for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 1, court records show.
