Montgomery Ave. Closing Nightly Through Oct. 12

Drivers will be detoured as the nightly work closes the road.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Montgomery Avenue in Lower Merion Township will see nightly closures for more than a week as crews work on a beam replacement project in the area, according to PennDOT.

Montgomery Avenue is closing nightly during the week from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning from Monday, Oct. 9 through Thursday Oct. 12, PennDOT said.

The road will be closed between Old Gulph and Spring Mill roads.

Drivers will be detoured to Old Gulph and Spring Mill roads to avoid the work area.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone, PennDOT said.

Crews will be working to replace a beam on the overpass carrying Interstate 476 north over Montgomery Avenue.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area because slowdowns will occur.

The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.
